Crow’s Feet

Crow's feet is the term used to describe the fine lines and wrinkles found at the outer corners of your eyes.

As you age, your skin undergoes gradual changes. Some parts of the face are more susceptible than others to the signs of aging, including the delicate eye area. Crow’s feet, a common concern, are those little lines spreading out from the corners of your eyes. Crow’s feet develop over time because of tiny muscle contractions that happen every time you make a facial expression.

Since crow’s feet naturally appear as we age, it’s almost impossible to completely prevent them. However, you can minimize their severity with a few lifestyle choices

Types of wrinkles:

Dynamic: Dynamic wrinkles are those that appear during muscle contraction. If your crow’s feet are primarily visible when you are smiling, they are probably dynamic.

Static wrinkles: Static wrinkles may worsen with muscle contraction, but they are visible all the time, even when the face is at rest.

No matter which type of crow’s feet you have, we have treatment options available for you.

Treatments:

Botox: Botox is an excellent way to treat crow’s feet and prevent future lines from forming. It freezes tissue in place so that they cannot contract. A few touch-ups here and there will do a world of difference.

Dermal fillers: Dermal fillers are a more natural way to treat crow’s feet. Dermal fillers are injections containing either hyaluronic acid or collagen. They are injected into the problem area and begin “filling” out the wrinkles and fine lines.

Chemical peels: Chemical peels have been proven to be one of the most effective treatments for getting rid of wrinkles. This is a process in which an acidic solution is applied to your face then removed. Over the next few days, the reaction will take effect in which the top, wrinkled layer of your skin will peel away, revealing a new, younger-looking layer of skin underneath.

Laser therapy: Laser therapy or more specifically laser resurfacing, is a more modern solution. With this treatment, a pulsating laser removes several thin layers of skin one by one to do away with the flawed top layer and reveal a smooth, untouched layer. The heat from the laser also promotes collagen production which will create smooth supple skin.
