Cyst Excision

Cysts are noncancerous small bumps beneath the skin. They form when a gland or hair follicle becomes blocked and are commonly found on the scalp, face, and neck.

Cysts usually present as painless lumps but can become tender when infected.

Cysts are typically harmless and don’t always require treatment. They should, however, be diagnosed by a doctor.

When a cyst is intact, an excision is typically the best removal procedure. An incision has to be done around the cyst to take out the entire cyst wall and contents and then stitch it up and leave it to heal solitarily.
